The Great Enlightenment Buddhist Institute Society (GEBIS) and the Great Wisdom Buddhist Institute (GWBI), both with significant land holdings in eastern P.E.I., find themselves at the centre of this controversy. The RCMP has acknowledged these allegations, stating that they have been aware of them since 2015.
