A tragic boating accident on Lake Rossignol in Nova Scotia has left two children dead and two others injured. The incident occurred late Saturday afternoon, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported that a 45-year-old man and three children, all from Fall River, N.S., were aboard the boat when it capsized. Sadly, two of the children, both under the age of 10, did not survive.

The call for help came just before 5 p.m. local time, alerting emergency crews to a boater in distress on Lake Rossignol, which is located in Queens County, near Kejimkujik National Park. The response was a coordinated effort involving the RCMP, local fire departments, paramedics, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC). According to RCMP spokesperson Cindy Bayers, a military Cormorant helicopter was dispatched to the scene, following the advice of paramedics present. The helicopter transported the individuals to CFB Halifax before they were taken to a hospital for further treatment.
