At a grave, a candle, a lantern or a potted plant can mean far more than its price. For families visiting loved ones at Milton Evergreen Cemetery, such keepsakes became the focus of a theft investigation after items began disappearing in late June.

**Key facts**

- Theft began in late June at Milton Evergreen Cemetery, and in July families reported noticing items had been taken from their loved ones’ graves.
- Police said approximately 20 families reported missing grave items, including lanterns, shepherd hooks, candles, potted plants, and other keepsakes.
- Officers executed a search warrant at a Milton residence and seized items reported stolen, along with dozens of other items believed to have been taken from gravesites.
