A Langley parking-lot confrontation that was captured on video is under RCMP investigation after footage appeared to show a woman assaulting a driving instructor while telling him to “go back to your country.” Langley RCMP were called at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, to the 4800 block of 207 Street, where the confrontation unfolded in a parking lot. Police arrested a woman at the scene in connection with the alleged assault. ## Video Shows Parking Dispute and Alleged Assault The footage shows a dispute over how the instructor had parked. During the exchange, the woman is seen striking him and knocking his sunglasses off. The video also contains the remark, “Go back to your country,” directed at the instructor. The instructor responds in the footage that he was born in Canada. Police have not released further details about the people involved as the investigation continues. Cpl. Mansoor Sahak of Langley RCMP described the reported incident as a dispute between two people in a parking lot, one of whom was a driving instructor. “The driving instructor was assaulted,” Sahak told Global News. ## RCMP Calls Incident Disturbing Langley RCMP said the interaction shown in the video is “disturbing” and does not represent the wider community. “The interaction is disturbing and in no way a reflection of the community as a whole,” Sahak said in a police statement. The force says it is taking the report seriously and is asking anyone who witnessed the confrontation to contact investigators, quoting file number 26-33543. ## Driving School Condemns Racism and Aggressive Behaviour Valley Driving School confirmed that one of its instructors was involved in the incident and said it had reported the matter to police. “We strongly condemn the racism and aggressive behaviour depicted in the video,” the company said in a statement. The school said the safety and well-being of its team members and customers remains its priority. It declined to comment further on the specific circumstances, citing privacy and the ongoing police process. In an earlier statement, the business said it was aware of an incident involving one of its instructors and was treating the matter seriously. ## Woman Had Not Been Charged The woman was arrested at the scene, but no charge had been announced at the time of reporting.
