Allegations described here are not proven in court unless stated.

Toronto police have laid 12 charges against a 71-year-old Toronto man in an investigation involving allegations of sexual assault of a youth victim in Etobicoke.

Police allege the assaults occurred on multiple occasions between 2021 and 2026, while the complainant was a youth. The charges against Paul Conn have not been tested in court.

## Police response in Etobicoke

Officers responded to a sexual assault call shortly after 7:50 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the area of Bloor Street West and The East Mall, police said.

Investigators allege Conn met the victim while working at a church near Bloor Street West and Kipling Avenue. Police further allege he drove the victim to his residence, where the victim was sexually assaulted.

The victim later fled the residence and contacted authorities, according to police.

The allegations span several years, from 2021 through 2026\. Police say the complainant was a youth during that period.

## Charges include sexual exploitation counts

Conn faces three counts of sexual interference with a person under 16, four counts of sexual exploitation of a young person and five counts of sexual assault.

The case involves serious allegations concerning an alleged relationship that began through work at a church in the Etobicoke area. Police have not publicly identified the church, and the victim has not been identified.

Police have emphasized that the allegations and charges remain unproven. Conn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

## Investigators seek further information

Toronto police say they believe there may be additional victims.

Investigators have released an image of Conn and are asking anyone with information to contact police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

For people following the case, the police appeal is a request for potential witnesses or others with relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.
